Dear Resident, Business Owner, or Property Owner:

RE: Mt. Sinai, 76,88 R, 92 &100 Yorkville Avenue & 95,115,119 & 121 Scollard Street

The Village of Yorkville is under threat. We are appealing to you to donate funds to support the efforts of SAVE Yorkville and the ABC Residents Association to oppose the inappropriate development that will exceed the Official Plan and Zoning By-Laws. This development, which includes an 18-storey condominium building at 100 Yorkville Avenue (at Bellair), clearly does not contribute to the Village-like setting of Yorkville.

To protect the future and viability of Yorkville we must ensure responsible development that is compatible with the character and human scale of the Village, SAVE Yorkville Heritage Association and the ABC Residents Association are raising funds to hire a lawyer and expert witnesses to present arguments and testimony at these OMB hearings.

Recent polls indicate that Torontonians believe our city is in decline. Yorkville has economic, recreational, and historic value to our city. The unique character of this downtown oasis must be maintained. Unless we act now to argue forcefully in favour of responsible development that acknowledges this important Area of Special Identity, the Village will soon be filled in with a congestion of tall, mediocre buildings, and the distinctive character of Yorkville will be lost forever.

It is our hope that, particularly in this year of the 150th anniversary, we can count on your financial contribution toward the important goal of preserving the character and viability of Yorkville, one of Torontos most important neighbourhoods.

For more information, consult the SAVE Yorkville website at: www.saveyorkville.com or telephone us at 416-920-8259, or e-mail us at saveyorkvillenow@hotmail.com.

Please make your cheque payable to: SAVE Yorkville Heritage Association and mail it to 106-33 Hazelton Avenue, Toronto, ON M5R 2E3. Your generosity will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, in advance, for your support.

Sincerely,

Robin Korthals, Chairman, SAVE Yorkville Heritage Association

John Caliendo, President, ABC Residents' Association
